Our History
The Center for Initiative in Health and Population (C.CIHP) was established and directly managed by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) according to Decision No. 1816/QD-LHH dated December 11, 2008. Its primary activities encompass the following scientific and technological fields:
Scientific research in the fields of health and population; application of research findings, achievements of advanced science and technology, and initiatives for intervention, community health improvement, and population health enhancement.
Science and technology services: Scientific consultation, critique, appraisal, and evaluation of topics, projects, and programs; technology transfer and initiatives; organization of conferences, scientific workshops, specialized professional training in the aforementioned research areas; dissemination of knowledge on health and population through various forms; consultation, development, and implementation of innovative models in the field of population and health.
Collaboration with domestic and international organizations to fulfill the Centers mission.
C.CIHP also built upon 10 years of experience and reputation from the Consultation of Investment in Health Promotion Co. Ltd. (CIHP), established in 1999 and operating under a social enterprise model. The previous CIHP focused on research and implementation of innovative intervention models in the following areas: healthcare management, primary healthcare, reproductive and sexual health, and gender-based violence prevention. The current CIHP continues the mission and tasks of the previous CIHP, aiming to reach new heights and contribute to "Health for All" and "Leaving No One Behind".
The current C.CIHP is led by four medical doctors with over 30 years of experience in the field of public health and one social science expert with nearly 20 years of experience in intervention management. With approximately 20 full-time staff members from diverse backgrounds such as medicine, public health, social science, psychology, finance, and administration, C.CIHP is asserting its strengths in the following six areas:
- Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)
- Gender Equality and Prevention of Gender-Based Violence (GBV)
- Disability and Mental Health
- Health Systems and Health Markets
- Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs)
- Communication in Health and Medicine
